Good to excellent dining on the Cape

I've been to Asia at Mashpee Commons several times and haven't had a bad meal there yet. Really good pan-Asian cuisine, including some excellent sushi. Beautiful presentation, well-stocked bar, and friendly and attentive staff.

It's really nice having a decent Asian restaurant in the Commons in the same spot where there have been a couple of other rather mediocre ones in the past.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my meal at The British Beer Company in Sandwich. Lots of character, good comfort food and a vast beer selection. Plus great entertainment.

Normally I would recommend the dining room side of The Squire in Chatham...
But lately I have enjoyed The Wild Goose at the Wayside Inn, also in Chatham.
BTW the two places are probably 50 yards apart in the center of Chatham!
would be hard to go wrong with either...
Want more upscale... there is always The Chatham Bars Inn.

OK…If you have not tried Pain D’Avigion,15 Hinckley Road, Hyannis, you are not living!

Great artisan breads, croissants, sandwiches, pizza, breakfast, lunch, dinner, even truffles…the best this side of the Ritz.

I love Impudent Oyster in Chatham -- the bar has such a happy familiar feeling to it -- very congenial -- the food has never ever disappointed me in over 20 years.

Recently I was reading one of our local Cape Cod magazines and saw an ad for Café Chew, a new hot spot at 4 Merchant’s Road in Sandwich, just off Route 6A.
Lo and Behold, as I read further I saw that Bob King and Tobin Wirth, two long-time Cape restaurateurs, had just opened the café this past August. Knowing their great reputations for good food, I decided to stop in for lunch.

All the sandwiches looked scrumptious! I ordered the The Midwestern, a homemade meatloaf with cheddar cheese, applewood-smoked bacon and tomato relish on ciabatta bread, the latter from Pain D’Avigion no less. The meatloaf was outstanding; the sandwich delicious! To satisfy my sweet tooth I ordered a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Marvelous! What a great place for lunch and breakfast…dinner in the summer months.

Be sure a bite to eat a sandwich at Café Chew… maybe a hot Panini, homemade soup or a crunchy delicious salad. It is a healthy and delicious eatery and coffee venue where one can feel at home sipping a freshly brewed cappuccino or latte at any time of the day.
